Servotech executed a 500KV capacity Solar PV project in Haldia, West Bengal. It was on the eve of World Environment Day, 5th June 2018 that the project was inaugurated by Sh. C.K. Tiwari, the executive director of Haldia Refinery. IOCL and Servotech dedicated the project to their Clean India drive which calls for the use of renewable and sustainable energy sources, like Solar power in this case.
The project costs around Rs.4 Cr., and generates 8.21 Lac units worth of electricity every year. The project’s cost is calculated to be recompensed in 5 forthcoming years, if averaged at Rs.10 per unit of power, and beyond that it’ll run on zero-cost basis for the refinery. The solar installation is just one part of the overall attempt to lessen its environmental footprint and supports the shared goal of delivering considerable renewable energy to the grid by 2023 and a marked reduction in carbon emissions.
